Awareness Raising Plan
For Underprivileged people:
Firstly, I would go to the area where these people basically reside in. Knowing what kind of background they have and the environment they live in will give me a brief idea about their condition. After this, I will try to talk to few at a time as to not make it feel offensive in any sort. Making the talk comfortable, I would further proceed to ask the children and the adults about their education and what is their livelihood source of income. Keeping things in mind, before going to their place I will keep in mind what all cross questioning could be done by them if I raise the topic of child labour and their education. I cannot provide them with job they need but I can make them aware about the few opportunities that could be available for them so their children won’t have to work. I’d inform them about the Govt. Aided schemes that are already present for the underprivileged and how to avail those schemes. I would also gather some volunteers who would like to be a part of this and form a team so that once in a while along with my own college work I could do the most from my side. I would also like to show them some promising videos of the govt. If I find something which could be motivational and mind changing for them.
The following are the videos taken from KSCF channel which I would show them as visual aids are far more than only words:
For Privileged people:
If I want to spread awareness to these class of people then social media is the best option that is there for us. People read, see, hear through all the things that are present on the internet. Making short awareness videos/ poster for the awareness programme would be a great idea for this. I would also like to form a survey and provide the links to the privileged ones to know their understanding about the laws and general information of child labour. I would make them aware about few things that involve child labour and they are unknowingly using it. Also, would encourage them to share these things further in their groups, social media accounts etc.
Some of the videos that I would like to include will be:
For Child Labour Employers:
I feel the most difficult task is stopping the people who are actually making this illegal crime happen by employing them. They need to be stopped forcefully by strict actions by the govt. Through laws and policies and also by us, otherwise it won’t come to an end. Boycotting the industries and shops through the help of (consumers which is us) will make sure that they don’t do this in the future. Also, if it becomes so big that police help is needed then for sure taking the option is fruitful. Calling the helpline nos. Already present will help the issue further.
