Schemes for the Underprivileged on National Level;
1. Name of the Scheme- Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)
Beneficiary- People who were not able to open bank accounts due to not having enough money.
Description of the Scheme- This central scheme offers a platform for universal access to banking services, like basic savings bank account, remittances facility, insurance and pension. There is no criteria for minimum balance. Overdraft of Rs. 10,000 is available for one account per household, preferably lady of the household. 4 per cent interest per annum on opening the account. Accidental insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh. Life insurance cover of Rs. 30,000.
Eligibility- Anyone from the weaker section of the society. Minors below 10 can also avail the scheme provided a guardian is available to maintain the account.

2. Name of the scheme- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
Beneficiary- People who intend to get Life Insurance
Description of the scheme- This scheme is a one year renewable life insurance plan. A life cover of Rs 2 lakh is provided at an annual premium of Rs 330 payable at the time of renewal of the plan. The premium will be deducted from the account holder’s savings bank account through ‘auto debit’ facility. Income Tax benefits and exemptions will be available as per the income tax laws which are subject to change from time to time. There is no maturity or surrender benefit under this plan. Account holder’s insurance will be terminated once she/he attains the age of 55. Account can be closed under certain conditions too.
Eligibility- People aged between 18-50 who hold a savings account can apply for the scheme.

3. Name of the scheme- Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY)
Beneficiary- People who need financial assistance for education and marriage for their daughters.
Description- SSY aims to meet education and marriage related expenses of the girl child. Tax deduction benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. In one financial year, minimum amount of Rs 1,000 and maximum Rs 1.5 lakh can be deposited. The parent or guardian will have to invest for 15 years from the date of account opening. Thereafter the account will continue to earn interest till maturity. If the girl wants, she can remove 50 per cent of the amount from the account after attaining the age of 18 years for higher education purposes.
Eligibility- Account can be opened only in the name of girl child who is below the age of 10 at the time of opening of the account. Only two SSY accounts are permitted per family.
4. Name of the scheme- Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY)
Beneficiary- Poor families in urban and rural areas.
Description- It offers an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family. The process is paperless and cashless in public hospitals. Free treatment available at all public and private hospitals (listed by government) in times of need. No limit on the age and size of the family. Scheme covers all pre-existing conditions from the time the scheme comes into force. The insurance covers pre and post-hospitalisation expenses.
Eligibility- People from economically backward section including families with no adult members between 16 and 59, families with one disabled member, manual scavengers, tribal groups, rag-picker, beggar, domestic help, construction workers, sanitation workers, public transport drivers, waiters, peons, mechanic, etc.

Schemes for the Underprivileged on State Level;
1.Name of the scheme- Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana (JMSBY)
Beneficiary- Poor and weaker families, Around 57 Lakh Families.
Description- Medical Insurance, free and cashless treatment are the benefits that are provided through this scheme. Through this scheme, approximately, 57 Lakh Families are going to get the benefits. So through the National Food Security Act, almost 57 Lakh families are benefits of this Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana. So the Government decides to give free and cashless treatment for people from the poor and weaker families. And Government will not take any premium amount from the poor people to get into this Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana.
Eligibility- The citizens of the Jharkhand state are eligible for this scheme. To get benefits of this scheme, citizens can get them at all Government hospitals and some empanelled Private Health organizations. Through this Scheme, Senior Citizens will get the Coverage of Rs.30,000. While for secondary care Rs.50,000 is allotted. Rs.2 Lakh is for special care. The government will distribute Health Cards, using those cards Citizens can get Cashless Free Treatment.

2.Name- Chief Minister Fellowship Yojna (CMFY)
Beneficiary- Underprivileged students who are pursuing higher professional courses.
Description- Scholarship scheme is divided into two major categories. Students need to select the relevant category based on their class/course in which they are studying. The categories are detailed below: Technical/Professional level scholarship; for the students studying in top 100 colleges across India such as IITs and IIMs at graduation or post graduation level. Research Scholarship; for the students who excelled in PhD entrance exam of Jharkhand State University.
Eligibility- Students must be a domicile of Jharkhand. Parents who are not income tax payee. Student must not be availing any other scholarship in the current financial year.

3.Name of the scheme- Jharkhand Affordable Housing Policy
Beneficiary- The huge underprivileged rural population who migrate to cities in search of livelihood. urban poor classified by state as persons belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low Income Groups.
Description- The aim of the Policy is to create an enabling environment for providing “Affordable Housing for All in Urban Areas” with special emphasis on EWS and LIG and other vulnerable sections of the society such as SC/ST/OBC/Minorities and Senior Citizen, Physically Challenged persons in the state and to ensure that no individual is shelter less. The Vision is to ensure that all residents of urban areas in Jharkhand have access to a range of housing options within their affordability limits by putting in place a system that will deliver results consistently over a period of time. To work towards a set of strategies to create a steady supply of affordable housing stocks to cater to the growing demand. Over a period of 7 years, the government intends to completely address housing deficit in urban areas and have an operational system, where supply matches demand.
Eligibility- One must be a citizen of Jharkhand. The beneficiary family should not own a pucca house (an all-weather dwelling unit) either in his/her name or in the name of any member of his/her family in any part of India. The policy is applicable to all the Municipal Areas and as notified by the Government in the state Gazette from time to time.
