Poem by Adarsh Meher

Dark are the days
Of the nation in shackles
Darker are it’s days
When it’s children are fighting battles
It’s been a battle against their own
Their own nation, and their own parents
Their own teachers, and their own friends
For they all have let them down
They all have tightened the chain
Each made the chain tighter
For blackened is the setting sun
Darker is the fate of that nation
Where it’s children are abused
And sent to sleep in hunger and misery
Made to work under shackles and chain
All that’s in store is atrocities and pain
That country shall soar
Where the children’s fate is in safe shore
Their eyes dance with happiness and freedom
They fly high with the brightest of future.
